Septentrio showcases its latest anti-jamming and anti-spoofing GPS/GNSS tech at JNC

At ION JNC in San Diego Septentrio will demonstrate how simple it is to spoof or jam unprotected GPS receivers and how Septentrio’s resilient technology makes a difference for overall PNT security and availability.

Leuven, Belgium – May 31, 2022 -  Septentrio, a leader in high-precision GPS/GNSS* positioning solutions, will be showcasing at JNC (Joint Navigation Conference) how GPS jamming and spoofing** affect high-accuracy GPS receivers and the latest protection technology against such threats. A GPS spoofing demo will take a place as well as a detailed comparison of jamming solutions from various high-end receivers. The integration of the latest anti-spoofing authentication mechanism, called OSNMA will also be shown.

OSNMA anti-spoofing authentication from Galileo is available on Septentrio receivers such as the mosaic module as well as the recently released AsteRx-U3 boxed receiver. * Global Navigation Satellite System including the American GPS, European Galileo, Russian GLONASS, Chinese BeiDou, Japan’s QZSS and India’s NavIC. These satellite constellations broadcast positioning information to receivers which use it to calculate their absolute position.

** Jamming is a form of radio interference which occurs when GPS frequency is overpowered by other radio waves. The result can be a loss of positioning accuracy or event total loss of position. Spoofing is a malicious form of radio interference, where misleading signals are sent into the receiver, resulting in faulty coordinates, which lead the target away from its predefined track.
