Septentrio concludes a distributor agreement with Marubun Corporation

Leuven, Belgium - 12 July 2018 – Septentrio, a leading global supplier of high-accuracy GNSS receivers for demanding applications, and Marubun, a leading Japanese electronics trading company, have concluded a distribution agreement for the Japanese market.

This new agreement will further strengthen Septentrio’s strong growth in the rigorous, quality minded, Japanese market. Marubun will sell and support Septentrio’s products, primarily to industrial customers in Japan. This agreement complements an earlier agreement with GNSS technologies who specialize in scientific customers. Earlier this year Septentrio opened an office in Yokohama near Tokyo to coordinate their expanding activities in Japan.

Tomoyasu Hirose, Sales Director at Marubun says: “Applications like autonomous driving, agricultural and industrial equipment have become a reality. However, these applications require more precise robust and reliable positioning than ever before. Septentrio’s receivers offer cm-level even under harsh conditions such as multi-path or electronic interference, this robustness creates security and confidence for the user of remote control applications. Septentrio offers receivers which take full advantage of Japans QZSS augmentation system for GNSS”

“Together with the new office, opened earlier this year, this agreement offers further proof of Septentrio’s strong commitment to the Japanese market” commented Anton De Proft, CEO at Septentrio.  “Marubun is a strong distribution partner with a long track record of introducing cutting edge technology products in the Japanese market with a good understanding of the industrial GNSS market including IoT and autonomous vehicles.”
