Australia, Darwin to Adelaide
Sunday, October 25, 2009

The Panasonic World Solar Challenge is the ultimate challenge for everyone building cars powered by solar energy only – the unofficial world championship for solar cars. One of the teams competing in this year’s 3000 km race from Darwin to Adelaide (Australia) which takes place between Oct 25-31 is the Belgian Umicore Solar Team. Septentrio is assisting the team’s race preparations with its precision dual-frequency GPS receivers powered by the Veripos ULTRA service, which provides decimeter accuracy anywhere in the world, even in the most remote locations in the Australian desert. The team uses this technology to accurately survey the course and all important road characteristics, a crucial element in determining the best race strategy both before and during the race. The big day is coming closer ! You can follow the team’s adventures on http://www.solarteam.be/.
