Septentrio’s origins are deeply rooted in the scientific community. The company was founded as an offshoot of IMEC (originally the Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre) in Leuven, Belgium, the world’s leading nano-electronic research institute. 

Septentrio’s knowledge and expertise have added significantly to a deeper understanding of space and satellite communications. We have worked with the European Space Agency (ESA) since the beginning of the Galileo Space Program; the first GNSS receiver ever to receive live Galileo signals was built by our team of dedicated engineers. Our reputation grew as we helped to develop EGNOS.
